Mark J. Neal is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts as well as the United States Supreme Court. His practice has extended to every parish and appellate court in Louisiana. A trial attorney, Mark's practice includes most areas of civil litigation, including matters of insurance defense, auto and trucking accident litigation, insurance coverage, workers' compensation, legal malpractice and disciplinary defense, employment litigation, corporate and business litigation, municipal litigation and creditor's rights. He has tried over 170 jury and non-jury cases to judgment (first chair) in both state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and has argued over 60 cases to the various courts of appeal (and is credited with as many reported decisions). 

Born in Monroe (1971), a Martindale-Hubbell "AV" Preeminent peer review rated trial attorney, Mark graduated magna cum laude with a BBA from University of Louisiana- Monroe in 1993 and in 1996 earned his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University. 

After law school, Mark returned home to practice with Hudson, Potts and Bernstein, LLP. After 9 years as a full partner, he left the firm in 2011 to create his own firm. 

Mark's professional affiliations have included American Inns of Court, American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and Louisiana Claims Association (former board member). Mark served two (2) separate three (3) year terms as Director to Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (LADC) and continues to serve the organization as a faculty and board member for its LADC Trial Academy which is held annually in New Orleans.  

A former director for DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar,  Mark is a member of the invitation only organizations American Board of Trial Advocates and International Association of Defense Counsel

Mark served 6 years as attorney panel chairman for Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.

In February 2017, National Foundation for Judicial Excellence invited Mark to join its Board of Directors. 

The governor of Louisiana appointed Mark to serve on the Louisiana Board of Ethics

Mark is a University of Louisiana-Monroe trustee and past president of the university's athletic foundation, and continues to serve as the latter foundation's attorney. He is a former Monroe Youth Baseball Association and YMCA board member and volunteer coach.  Married to Rhonda Wray Neal since 1996, he is the proud father of two boys: Noah (17) and Nathan (13).

On personal note, Mark has watched baseball games in 26 major league baseball stadiums and has to visit 9 more to complete the list. His boys love the journey and his wife, who enjoys sports, is a good "trooper."
